The socialist mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, should announce her candidacy in the French presidential elections of 2022 on Sunday: this is what various members of the Socialist Party, cited by transalpine media, report. That of Hidalgo will be only one among the numerous candidates for the supreme function in the French left. French of Spanish origin, re-elected in 2020 as leader of the Paris municipality, Hidalgo is expected to confirm his presidential ambitions on the occasion of a mission on Sunday to Rouen, in western France, whose mayor Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol is a close ally.
