Several dozen schoolgirls demonstrated on Thursday in the northern Italian lagoon city of Venice after a clothing scandal in physical education.
According to media reports on Thursday, a sports teacher had banned some girls from wearing sports tops in class.
The teacher then forced her to put on a sweater or shirt on the grounds that the girls should cover their body shape so as not to distract their classmates, the "Corriere della Sera" quoted a demonstrator as saying.
The state school initially left a request on the case unanswered.
The activists of the student collective wrote on a banner »Change your mentality, not our clothes«.
Underneath it was "My body, my decisions".
According to the newspaper report, around 60 schoolgirls took part in the protest.
Some protesters came in short tops, as photos on the collective's Instagram profile showed.
"School shouldn't educate us to cover our bodies so as not to distract boys, but do exactly the opposite, namely teach everyone to respect everyone, regardless of their clothes," said the post on social media -Platform.
