Two serious cases of patient violence against brothers and sisters took place today (Friday) in two hospitals.
In both incidents the brothers required medical attention, testifying that they had a painful experience.
The first case occurred at noon at Lev Hasharon Mental Health Hospital: A brother in a closed ward who opened a door was attacked by a patient who tried to escape. The same patient punched him in the face and head. The brother was injured and was taken to Laniado Hospital with bruises to his head and face.
In another case, which also took place at noon, a patient with a criminal background at the Sha'ar Menashe Mental Health Hospital went on a rampage during treatment. Four staff members were injured. One of them, who serves as a nurse in the closed ward, was lightly injured in her legs and hand.

According to Ilana Cohen, chairwoman of the Brothers and Sisters Federation, "These two cases of violence could have been avoided if the Ministry of Health and the Israeli government had complied with the agreement we signed and placed security guards in each closed ward.
"Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and the Israeli government, every moment that passes without responding to violence in the health system, you are abandoning the personal security of the brothers and sisters and we will not allow this to happen," she said.
"It's delusional. We've just finished a 24-hour warning strike in protest of the violence, and we'll not hesitate to shut down the health system indefinitely. It's a national emergency and needs to be addressed immediately. We're satisfied with promises, now we want to see action. Enough violence!"
