After a corona outbreak in a nursing home in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, three residents died.
Now the public prosecutor's office is investigating a former employee of the facility.
There is a suspicion that the 44-year-old worked with a fake vaccination certificate in the home while she had Corona, said the prosecutor's spokeswoman.
Since three residents infected with the virus died in a close temporal context, the prosecution is also investigating the initial suspicion of manslaughter.
The accused admitted the use of the falsified vaccination certificate, the spokeswoman said.
“She doesn't want anything to do with the infections.
We are taking all measures that are appropriate to clear up the allegations. "How long the investigation by the public prosecutor's office will take is unclear.
The Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung had initially reported on the investigation.
Dismiss employee
The woman who worked as an everyday companion in the home was dismissed without notice, as facility manager Michael Ossenkopp told the dpa news agency.
He confirmed that the woman had presented the home with a vaccination certificate, which turned out to be forged.
After that, the institution filed a complaint against the 44-year-old.
It later became clear that the woman had Corona and still worked in the home.
According to Ossenkopp, the corona outbreak is spreading widely.
Eleven residents and five employees were recently infected.
