A spider from a banana box has bitten a supermarket employee in the Osnabrück district.
With a spider expert they are currently looking for the spider in the shop in Georgsmarienhütte, as the police announced.
As the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" reported, the incident occurred around 2.40 p.m., the injured person was therefore the branch manager.
The supermarket had been cleared and the employee was taken to a clinic due to the injury.
It is still unclear whether the animal is poisonous.
However, it was a "fairly large spider," the NOZ quoted a police spokesman as saying.
The origin of the spider can only be determined if you know where the bananas came from, according to the dpa news agency from the police.
Spiders are repeatedly found in banana boxes.
Most recently, a spider in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, had kept various emergency services on their toes.
It later turned out to be a harmless crab spider.
