Covid-19 in France: the drop in hospital admissions continues, 3,416 people in critical care

Even though hospital admissions are down over a week, as are the positivity rate and the incidence rate, the tension remains high


Even if the decline is confirmed in the hospital, the tension remains strong in France.

32,415 people are currently being cared for in hospital services according to the latest report from Public Health France, published this Thursday, compared to 32,878 on Wednesday and 32,739 on average a week ago.

The occupation of critical care services, units reserved for patients with the most severe forms of the disease, is also down: 3,416 patients are currently hospitalized there, against 3,503 on Wednesday and 3,604 a week ago on average.

Overall, hospital admissions (-9% over a week) are declining, as are critical care admissions (-6%), inpatients (-1%) and critical care patients (-6%).

The positivity rate and incidence down

The positivity rate (31.7%) and the incidence rate (2,163 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) are also down, respectively for the 8th and 14th consecutive day.
