With the weekend of 'preview' the Venice Carnival, entitled 'Remember the future', got underway.
Since the first morning the city has seen thousands of people arrive - the local police estimated 50 thousand - from the regional hinterland, but above all foreign tourists (about 32 thousand), a good sign for the economic recovery of the city.
The first small shows, juggling and puppets also appeared in the calli and campielli, spread throughout the historic center in such a way as to reduce the crowd.
The most elaborate and choreographic masks have yet to come out, only the children have taken the opportunity to show off their costumes.
In any case, the 2022 edition of the Carnival will be quite soft, excluding mass events, such as the flight of the Angel from the bell tower of San Marco, to avoid the risk of contagion.
The first important appointment will be Friday 18 February at the Arsenale, with the Carnival on the water, or a floating show entitled 'Nebula Solaris'.
