Water march!

Fernando Sergio Paneque is 80 years old - and the man from Havana had to be quite patient recently.

Because of the corona pandemic, Cuba's swimming pools had been closed for almost two years.

But now amateur athletes like Paneque are finally allowed to swim again.

After all: The warm Havana allows you to jump into the sea.

Beijing day and night

The Winter Olympics are not only a tour de force for athletes, but also for many reporters on site.

Here in the media center of the games, small sleeping chambers have been set up so that you can catch your breath for a moment.

But some journalists apparently use a sleeping cabin to work themselves.

Admittedly, Jessie Diggins didn't exactly take a comfortable nap here, wrapped up in the US flag.

The cross-country skier was happy about bronze in the sprint.

Four years ago in South Korea, Diggins had already won an Olympic medal as a team, even gold at the time.

A city in turmoil

An elderly woman has to make her way through countless trucks in the Canadian capital of Ottawa.

Thousands of truckers blocked the city because they were protesting against a corona requirement.

Accordingly, all truck drivers coming from the USA to Canada must be fully vaccinated – or in quarantine.

Some are already looking tired, but the wait may well be worth it as Senegal secured their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations victory on penalties - and those fans were excited for the winning team's arrival in Dakar.
