(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 14 - Candidate for an Oscar for MadresParalelas, Penelope Cruz plays in Italian for L'immensione, the new film by Emanuele Crialese whose first image was released on Deadline.

Currently in post production the awaited new work (towards the Cannes festival?) By the director of the award-winning Respiro, Nuovomondo and Terraferma, is set in Rome in the 1970s.


   The Borghetti family has just moved into one of the city's newly built tantic condominiums.

Despite the new arrangement, Clara (Cruz) and Felice (Vincenzo Amato) are no longer in love on the top floor of a new apartment, but they are unable to leave each other.

Clarat finds refuge from her loneliness by taking refuge in the special relationship with her three children.

The eldest, Adriana, an unknown child in their new neighborhood, deliberately introduces herself as a boy to the neighborhood children, pushing the family bond to breaking point.


   Written with Francesca Manieri and Vittorio Moroni, it is produced by Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Gangarossa for Wildside with DimitriRassam for Chapter 2., The Immensity is co-produced by Warner BrosItalia which will distribute it.

France 3 Cinéma and Pathé also co-produce in France and Pathé will distribute the film in France and Switzerland.
