France 2 and France Inter will simultaneously broadcast a major concert of support for the Ukrainian people this Tuesday, March 8 from 9 p.m.

"United for Ukraine" is the name of the evening organized by France 2 and France Inter, in partnership with the Red Cross and Le Parisien-Aujourd'hui in France this Tuesday evening.

Two free and simultaneous concerts at the Maison de la radio in support of the Ukrainian people and all populations affected by the conflict.

The evening will be hosted by Nagui and Leïla Kaddour, live, in public, from the Maison de la Radio and broadcast simultaneously on France Inter, France 2 and TV5 Monde from 9 p.m.

On the program: pop, chanson and classical.

Clara Luciani, Indochine, Jane Birkin, Angélique Kidjo, Barbara Pravi answered the call and will be gathered in studio 104 of the Maison Ronde.

Pascal Obispo will sing two titles from his repertoire, which he chose for their resonance with current events: "While I sing", and in duet with his friend Florent Pagny, "There is not a man who was born for that" .

“At a time when social networks and continuous information constantly send us images of war, it is also good to send images of peace, believes the artist.

While I sing

speaks precisely of the position of the singer in relation to a conflict, to the difficulty of continuing to entertain during these periods… We are going to be there in solidarity with these people who are suffering and who are in exile, so close to us.

Florent Pagny will also perform solo "Si une chanson", Barbara Pravi will cover "Tous les cris les SOS" by Daniel Balavoine, Zazie has chosen one of his latest titles, "Waterloo", and Julien Clerc the essential "Utile". .

Ukrainian dancer Denys Cherevychko and Russian dancer Olga Chelpanova reunited

“It's not a political program, even if everyone will be free to say what they want, specifies Nagui.

No artist comes on sale.

They are just there to show solidarity and raise funds for the Red Cross and the humanitarian emergency.

It's great that in five days, we managed to put together a program that normally requires more than a month of preparation.

In this resolutely eclectic program, Nagui expects many other emotional moments, such as Nabucco's "Slave Choir", Verdi's opera, presented by the national orchestra and the choir of Radio France, accompanied by soprano Patricia Petibon, tenor Benjamin Bernheim and jazz trumpeter David Enhco.

And especially the pas de deux which will unite on “Swan Lake” the Ukrainian dancer Denys Cherevychko and the Russian dancer Olga Chelpanova.

The Franco-Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili will be the red thread of the show.

At his side, Carla Bruni will sing “Göttingen” by Barbara: “I chose this song because it is both very intimate and universal, explains the singer.

One of the verses says:

O let never return / The time of blood and hatred

.

It is a wonderful message of peace from a woman whose family had been victimized by the Nazis and who was returning to Germany with a heavy heart but open to forgiveness.

We continue to live normally here, but we feel how terrifying and close it is.

I do not know Ukraine unfortunately, but it is impossible to remain impervious to all this atrocity.
