It was to be March 8 focused on claiming equal opportunities especially in the world of work and in the hope of new perspectives and resources provided by the NRP.

An 8 March to say enough to male violence against women and to ask for the quick approval of the bill, presented by all the ministers of the Government, to strengthen the tools of prevention and protection of women.

In the years of the covid, with lockdowns, restrictions, smart working, women have seen the gender gap worsen.

But after the pandemic came the war and its burden of pain

It will therefore be an International Women's Day in which above all an end to the conflict will be asked and will be dedicated to the 'Ukrainian sisters', in particular those who set out alone or with their children to reach the borders defying bombs and often violence, even sexual.

Women to whom, as the minister for equal opportunities and the Elena Bonetti family said, we must guarantee a welcome that "is carried out in complete safety so that there is no form of violence against them".

The war in Ukraine, however, does not cancel the difficult situation for Italian workers.

Listen to "Italy and women, it's not a country for workers (by Claudia Torrisi)" on Spreaker.

As ascertained by INPS, pensions for women are 27% lower as a result of wage inequalities.

And in 13 years, from 2008 to 2021, the female employment rate has grown by only 2.6 percentage points, as sanctioned by the Di Vittorio foundation of the CGIL.

In any case, it will be an 8 March of denunciation and mobilizations in thirty cities, there will be a strike and a large demonstration in Rome organized, as every year, by the Italian "feminist and transfeminist" movement Non Una di Meno.

The procession will cross the center of the capital in the afternoon, from Piazza della Repubblica up to near Piazza Venezia, to denounce the increasingly precarious work, the many women who have lost it, but first of all "to stop the war in Ukraine but also the sending of weapons from Italy and European countries "to denounce that" the heavy sanctions wanted by NATO and approved by the EU will hit the population and will have consequences also in Europe ", to express solidarity with the many Ukrainians who work in Italy .

And also to demand "social, social and climatic justice, redistribution of wealth, self-determination and freedom of movement for those fleeing war, hunger, environmental catastrophes and violence".

Another traditional appointment is the one that will take place at the Salone dei Corazzieri of the Quirinale Palace on the theme "Young women who plan the future".

During the ceremony, broadcast live on Rai 1, there will be the testimony of Oksana Lyniv, Ukrainian conductor of the Municipal Theater of Bologna and of young women engaged in various fields of the economy and the social sector.

The meeting will end with the speech of President Mattarella.

Instead, the commission of inquiry on Femicide entitled: "Women's work, freedom from violence and the country's development strategy" is focusing on a conference.

There will be hundreds throughout Italy, and beyond, the appointments and initiatives promoted for women: from Caritas International, to universities, from municipalities to associations.

An international women's day that will end with the singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Chiara Civello on the stage of the Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome with the project "Chansons: Chiara Civello Sings International French Standards" and her most representative songs.

Tickets for the show, at a reduced price, will be used to give the opportunity to make a donation to UNHCR Italy in support of all women forced to flee due to wars and violence.
