Taekwondo: Alessio wins the 'Sofia Open'

Azzurro repeats success in President's Cup and 'sees' Paris 2024 (ANSA) A few days after the victory of the President's Cup, the blue Simone Alessio still climbs on the top step of the podium, and conquers another 20 points valid for the Olympic ranking, thanks to the success in the 'Sofia Open', an international competition in the G2 class that has with the participation of 464 senior athletes plus another 538 participants divided into the junior and cadet categories


A few days after the victory of the President's Cup, the blue Simone Alessio still climbs on the top step of the podium, and conquers another 20 points valid for the Olympic ranking, thanks to the success in the 'Sofia Open', an international competition in the G2 class that has with the participation of 464 senior athletes plus another 538 participants divided into the junior and cadet categories.

The race for the 2024 Olympics in Paris therefore continues at full speed, as Alessio consolidates his fifth place in the -80 kg category.

In Sofia the blue beat the Norwegian Richard Andre Ordemann 4-1 in the final, while in the semifinals they prevailed 13-8 over the Moroccan Youssef Boatrif and in the quarterfinals 10-0 over the Mexican René Lizarraga.
