Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins died at the age of 50.
The American rock band made the announcement on its social profiles.
"The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins," the group founded in 1994 in Seattle by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl tweeted at 4:00 PM.
"His musical spirit and contagious laughter - continues the message - will live with us all forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect. in this unimaginably difficult moment. "
According to unconfirmed sources, Hawkins was found dead in a Bogota hotel.
The death would have been caused by a heart attack.
The band was in the Colombian capital to play at the Estero Picnic Festival, a stop on their tour in Latin America that would see them in Brazil tomorrow.
