A 28-year-old damaged an estimated 260 cars in downtown Karlsruhe, causing damage of more than 500,000 euros.
As announced by the public prosecutor and the police in the city of Baden-Württemberg, the suspect turned himself in on Monday and admitted the crimes.
According to the investigators, the mostly high-quality vehicles were scratched or otherwise damaged between Friday and Sunday.
On Monday morning, the 28-year-old, who is a man of no fixed address, appeared at a police station and confessed.
As for the motive, he said he envied car owners and had personal problems.
According to the police and the public prosecutor's office, the man should be brought before a magistrate on Tuesday.
He had already made relevant criminal appearances and was last released from prison in July 2021.
