Covid: 63,815 new positives, 133 victims

(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 16 - There are 63,815 new infections from Covid in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

   Yesterday there were 61,555.

The victims instead amounted to 133, the same number recorded the previous day.

    The molecular and antigenic swabs for coronavirused in the last 24 hours amounted to 424,482, compared to 397,482 in the previous 24 hours.

The positivity rate dropped to 15% from 15.5% yesterday.

There are 411 patients in intensive care, 8 fewer than yesterday in the balance between income and expenses.

Daily admissions are 39. There are 9,878 inpatients in ordinary wards, or 102 fewer than yesterday.

    Also according to the Ministry's data, 1,221,338 people are currently positive at Covid, 2,414 more in the last 24 hours.

A total of 15,659,835 Italians have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic, while the dead have risen to 161,602.

There are 14,276,895 remitted and healed, with an increase of 61,986 compared to the day before.
