Jannik Sinner was beaten in three sets by Alexander Zverev (world number 3).

The German thus gained access to the semi-final of the tournament in Monte Carlo, the third Masters 1000 of the season.

Result: 7-5, 3-6, 6-7 (5/7) in three hours and 7 'of play.

Grigor Dimitrov, n.29 in the world, beat the Polish Hubert Hurkacz (n.14) 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2) reaching the semi-final of the Monte Carlo tournament, where he will face the Spanish Alejandro Davidovich (n.46).

At 30, the Bulgarian repeats the exploit of 2018, his best result to date in this tournament that traditionally opens the European season on clay.

Dimitrov broke the opponent once in the first set and kept the lead, Hurkacz did the same in the second.

The match was more spectacular in the third when, twice, the Pole managed the break: at the start of the set and when he went to serve for the match (5-4), but each time the Bulgarian reacted immediately.

So much so that the passage of the round was played at the tie-break, dominated by the former n.3 of the world.

Tomorrow Dimotrov will face Davidovich who qualified for his first Masters 1000 semifinal by beating American Taylor Fritz (# 13) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
