Today, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research placed the fifth announcement to accept requests for financial support for postgraduate theses “Master’s and PhD” in Syrian public universities for the year 2022 from the Scientific Research and Technical Development Support Fund for Higher Education.
The ministry’s announcement, which SANA received a copy of today, included the conditions for accepting financial support for postgraduate theses, which are that the scientific research submitted by the graduate student must be registered with the university and obtain the approval of the specialized department and college, and that the student adhere to the work plan of the research project and the timetable for the basic stages of research and the ethics of scientific research And that the research has an added scientific value and has practical and developmental results and economic feasibility so that it can be benefited from in a public or private entity.
It is also a condition, according to the ministry’s announcement, that the submitted research contribute to solving the technical problems faced by institutions, companies and public authorities to develop their products and services and enable them to improve their competitive capabilities or find an alternative, as well as support the employment of science and knowledge in scientific research to develop technology and direct it to solving problems and marketing the results of scientific research The scientific research of the graduate student should be accompanied by internal or external scientific publication, with the need to clearly indicate the support provided by the Research Support Fund upon publication.
The amount of financial support provided for research by the Scientific Reference Committee of the Fund is determined by completing the amount provided for this research by the university and within the financial capabilities available to the Fund, and not exceeding five million Syrian pounds only for the doctoral thesis, and three million Syrian pounds only for the master’s thesis.
A reward is given for internal and external scientific publication, 100,000 Syrian pounds for publication within approved internal scientific journals, and 200,000 Syrian pounds for external publication in refereed journals, classified and indexed in the global “Scopus” database.
The ministry indicated that requests for financial support for postgraduate theses received from universities are delivered to the Directorate of Scientific Research in the ministry from 5-8-2022 to 7-5-2023.
