With the victory over Atlanta (97-94) Miami reached the semifinals of the Eastern Conference in the NBA playoffs, while Phoenix moved closer to the West, thanks to the success over New Orleans (112-97).

Like Memphis, saved by Ja Morant against Minnesota (111-109).

Without their leaders Jimmy Butler (knee knocked out) and Kyle Lowry (hamstring), the Heat still had no problem ending the series (4-1).

Opposing star Trae Young (11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists) did not shine and, as the Hawks' attack largely depends on his streak, it was impossible for them to compete, despite the excellent performance of DeAndre Hunter ( 35 points, 11 rebounds, 3 interceptions).

Now Miami is waiting to meet its next opponent: Philadelphia or Toronto (3-2) who will meet tomorrow.

In the West, the Grizzlies lead 3-2 against the Timberwolves thanks to Ja Morant.

The 22-year-old phenomenon alone reversed a bad situation, as his team was 12 points down at the start of the last quarter.

In the last two minutes of play he scored all 11 points for the Grizzlies, to close the fourth with 18 and finish the game with 30 in total, close to the triple double (13 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 interceptions).

Minnesota may have some regrets, after coming close to victory in the wake of Karl-Anthony Towns (28 pts, 12 rebounds) who deluded himself that he silenced the FedEx Forum at 106-102.

Anthony Edwards (22 points) drew 109-109 with 3.7 seconds left.

But Morant was irrepressible.

The Suns regained the lead (3-2) also against the Pelicans, with a logical victory as they have always been ahead, up to +18.

Invisible in the previous match lost in Louisiana, Chris Paul has recovered (22 pts, 11 assists), following in the footsteps of Mikal Bridges (31 pts, 12/17 shots), very effective.

DeAndre Ayton also contributed (19 points, 9 rebounds).

Brave, like Brandon Ingram (22 pts) and CJ McCollum (21 pts, 8 rebounds), but wasteful in threes (5/25), Louisia will try, tomorrow at home, to push the best team of the regular season in the second game number 7.
