Retirement of a Slave:
After four seasons and a rocking role that also earned her the prestigious Emmy Award, actress Alexis Baldell announces: "I finished my way in 'The Story of a Slave'."
The 40-year-old Baldell, who will forever be remembered for the Gilmore beats from the hit series "Gilmore Girls", played the character of Emily / Opgalen in the series, confirmed in a short announcement over the weekend her decision to retire from the series after four seasons.
"After much thought, the decision to retire from 'The Story of a Slave' came to my mind at this time," read a statement issued on her behalf.
"I am grateful to Bruce Miller who wrote such real and powerful scenes for Emily, Hollow, MGM, the staff and colleagues for their support," she wrote.
Baldell has appeared in the successful and talked about series since it first aired in 2017. During her four years in the series, she received four Emmy Award nominations, when in 2017 she won to take home the prestigious statuette in the guest actress category.
"The Story of a Slave" is an award-winning American television series from the Hollow House based on an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's successful book The Slave Act.
