June not only brings relief to consumers.

Vaccination certificate holders need to be careful.

We give an overview of the changes.

Berlin - May brought many changes for consumers.

The following month of June continues seamlessly.

Those who travel a lot, be it on public transport or in their own vehicle, can look forward to it.

Changes in June 2022: €9 public transport ticket

From June 1, you can use the so-called 9-euro ticket in Germany, which is part of the federal government's relief package.

The ticket is valid on all local public transport, i.e. on buses, underground, S-Bahn, tram and regional trains, but not on ICE and IC long-distance trains.

The special offer is valid in June, July and August and costs, as the name suggests, nine euros per month.

Not only new customers benefit from the offer.

The transport associations have announced that they will relieve subscription customers by refunding the difference to their regular ticket.

Students also benefit from the 9-euro ticket.

At many universities you do not have to buy a monthly ticket separately, but in many cities the semester fee already includes a basic fee for it.

In Munich, for example, the solidarity contribution for limited use of the MVV during the day currently costs 72 euros per semester.

This solidarity contribution, reduced by nine euros, will be returned to the students.

So you can look forward to 63 euros, although you don't have to do anything yourself.

How this works in other cities can be found on the homepages of the universities or student unions.

Changes in June 2022: discount on petrol and diesel at petrol stations

Also included in the relief package is the tank discount for diesel and petrol.

Lower fuel taxes apply for June, July and August.

Including the reduction in VAT, drivers can save a total of 35.2 cents per liter of petrol and 16.7 cents for diesel.

While this discount will apply from June 1st, it may not be passed on to motorists immediately after that date.

The Auto Club Europa (ACE), for example, warns that prices can only fall hesitantly in the event of a rush to gas stations, since demand determines prices.

In addition, the central association of the petrol station trade points out that the supplies that are still in the tanks of the operators on June 1st have to be used up first.

The discount does not yet apply to these.

Changes in May 2022: One-off heating subsidy for low-income households

Low-income households are to receive a one-time subsidy in June to relieve them of the sharp rise in heating costs.

The money should be transferred directly to the account.

Bafög recipients, housing benefit recipients and recipients of vocational training aid should benefit.

Changes in June 2022: Microsoft is retiring classic Internet Explorer

The classic Internet Explorer from Microsoft has largely had its day.

On June 15, the software giant will end support for the time-honored browser and no longer provide security updates.

So users should switch.

At Microsoft, Edge has replaced Explorer.

Other alternatives are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Changes in June 2022: Sky Ticket puts an end to direct debit

From June 2022, it will no longer be possible to pay for the Sky Ticket streaming service by direct debit.

If users still prefer the direct debit procedure, this must be done via the payment service provider Klarna.

According to Sky, the customers concerned have been informed of the changeover and offered to switch to Klarna.

Alternatively, payment by PayPal or credit card is possible.

Changes in June 2022: The first corona vaccination certificates can technically expire

For vaccinated people who have not been boosted with a third vaccination against the corona virus, the digital corona vaccination certificate in the Corona-Warnapp and CovPass can technically expire from June 14th.

However, this does not invalidate the vaccination protection.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, nothing really needs to be done.

An update should be available before the certificates expire so that the proof can be refreshed again.

If you don't want to wait until an update is available, for example to go on vacation, you can also contact a pharmacy.

Changes in June 2022: Simplified Hartz IV regulation for Ukraine refugees

Because of the Ukraine conflict, millions of people have fled, many of them to Germany.

The federal government has therefore initiated a reform of Hartz IV, which will mean that refugees from Ukraine will be entitled to Hartz IV benefits in the future.

However, this option is limited to six months.

Refugees from Ukraine have so far received lower benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act.

That will change in June: BahnComfort will be replaced by BahnBonus

Deutsche Bahn abolishes the BahnComfort program on June 13th.

A revised BahnBonus frequent traveler program will be introduced for this purpose.

The BahnComfort level, which rail customers previously achieved from 2000 points, will be replaced by three status levels.

In the different levels, from 1500, from 2500 and from 6000 status points, customers receive services such as entry to the DB Lounge, the exclusive seating area or preferred care in the travel center.

Changes in June 2022: special stamp comes in double version

The Sylvenstein reservoir adorns the June issue of the “Germany from Above” stamp series.

The special thing about it is that the brand goes over two fields.

That means it is worth either a hundred cents or two euros in the double version.
