Princess Charlène of Monaco has contracted the corona virus and has tested positive, the principality has now announced.
The 44-year-old felt some symptoms and went into quarantine.
The mother of two had returned a few weeks ago from a four-month hospital stay in Switzerland, which followed a long stay in South Africa.
Prince Albert II's wife is said to have only recently begun to take on her official duties again.
"My health is still poor and I don't want to rush anything," Charlène had said in a newspaper interview.
Because of their absence, rumors of separation had circulated, which the royal family has always denied.
Instead, the princess publicly praised her husband for supporting her: "Like all people, we have emotions, weaknesses, but our family is exposed to media attention and the slightest weakness is passed on."
