Accustomed to clowning around with his troupe of Chiche Capon, Fred Blin presents his first solo performance “Are we always right? Which Witch

The Petit Saint-Martin theater (Paris Xe) fills up quietly on Saturday evening at 9 p.m.

The room is on a human scale, which makes it possible to establish a proximity between the spectators and the actor.

When Fred Blin appears on stage, his colorful character contrasts with the darkness in which the theater is plunged.

He wears a white dress that would make (almost) all brides jealous.

Her heavy makeup stands out, a white face with blood red lips.

From the outset, the character warns us that there will be lengths, broken promises and above all mess.

He even admits to us that his director refuses to allow his name to appear on the poster for the show.

Fred Blin is not afraid of failures, on the contrary, he makes them the cornerstone of his show.

A strong bond with his audience

His strength: he is not afraid of embarrassment or ridicule.

A large part of the show is based on clown mechanics: his character fidgets, jumps, contorts.

Laughter breaks out, impossible to resist.

In this regard, the actor will confide to us: “I accept that the public makes fun of me but I never make fun of the public.

His character constantly flirts with nuance, thus stepping out of the archetype of the happy or sad clown.

Even his voice fluctuates depending on the situation.

Perched high when annoyed, gentle when complaining.

This role, Fred Blin built it little by little, “it took shape as the performances progressed, depending on the reactions of the public.

Each evening is unique since each spectator is different.

Fred Blin - also on the poster for season 2 of "Parliament", the France.tv series - is on the lookout for reactions and modulates his show according to the laughter.

“I am constantly adapting.

That's why I yell at my team when they laugh too hard in the room.

She knows where the key moments are: don't spoil the spontaneity of the other laughs.

»

This complicity is maintained throughout the show and we are mistaken in attaching ourselves to the character, even in the most pathetic situations.

We come out with a smile on our face.

Discover a clown who brings out the sublime from his tragic misadventures.
