Director Todd Phillips formalizes the sequel to "Joker", a box office hit

On Tuesday, American director Todd Phillips announced on his Instagram account the upcoming arrival on the big screens of the sequel to the film "Joker", with Joaquin Phoenix, which had delighted lovers of the seventh art when it was released in 2019. According to the contents of the Instagram post, the film is written by Scott Silver and Todd Phillips.

The second photo shows Joaquin Phoenix reading the possible script for the film.

On the first image, the date of May 18, 2022 is discreetly written at the bottom left, suggesting that this is the end date of writing of the famous script.

This is the first time that Todd Phillips has explicitly mentioned a sequel, the Hollywood Reporter having revealed in May 2021 that the director had just reached an agreement to “co-write the next part of Joker”.

The latter had initially announced that he wanted to make a trilogy before abandoning the project.
