After a dog attacked a 10-year-old boy in Wales, the owner and another pet owner were sentenced to several years in prison.
A 19-year-old was sentenced to four and a half years in prison by a court in the regional capital Cardiff on Friday, and a 29-year-old to three years.
Both of them are never allowed to own a dog again.

The animal – an American Bully – attacked the boy in November 2021 in a house near the city of Caerphilly and injured his neck and head.
Police officers shot the dog.
The ten-year-old was acquainted with the pet owner.
The convicted man had admitted that he was the owner of the animal.
He had bought »Beast« only a few days before.
The woman was taking care of the dog at the time of the crime.
Both should have been aware that the animal was dangerous because it had already attacked a neighbor's dog a few days earlier and had become conspicuous several times, said the judge.
Nevertheless, "Beast" was allowed to move freely in the 29-year-old's house.
