2022-07-06T20:59:26.372Z

The dead are 9, there are still 3 people missing, all Italian. There remains the risk of a new posting. The Prosecutor's Office: 'Unforeseeable Event'. Erica dispersed with her husband, her sister: 'Why didn't they stop them?' (HANDLE)

The confirmed victims rise to nine.

Two more than yesterday, of which 4 recognized by family members and 5 not identified

.

There are 7 injured: 4 hospitalized in Trento, 3 in Venetian hospitals.

This was said by the president of the Province of Trento

Fugatti.

With the new discovery of the remains of the two victims, probably one of the two Venetian couples who were missing

,

the number of missing people still under the

Marmolada glacier descends to three.

Of the three victims not yet identified, two are expected to be from the Czech Republic and in the process of being recognized, while an unnamed body remains.

"Hour after hour a sad balance is being consolidated. In these days I had always cherished the hope that someone missing after the tragedy of the Marmolada could be found and treated. There are no words, if not tears".

This was stated by the President of Veneto

Luca Zaia,

after the discovery of the remains of other hikers.

"The whole of Veneto is crying - adds Zaia -. We are close to the families of the victims of one of the worst pages in the history of our mountains. The Region's car had immediately intervened with all means, operators and volunteers to save more lives possible, after this incident which is hard to accept and understand. However, research continues to give everyone a proper burial ", he concludes.

Marmolada, three radars are operational for monitoring the glacier

Also this morning four drones are flying over the Marmolada glacier, on the site of the disaster

.

Two drones from the Veneto mountain rescue and two others from the Trento firefighters will sift through the area where the ice landslide overwhelmed the mountaineers who were climbing along the normal route on Sunday. In addition to the drones, there are also two guard operators of finance at the Glacier hut.

Meanwhile, the activities of transporting the technological material necessary for the "sight and hearing" intervention of a selected team of rescuers continue which, together with the Canine Unit, could return to the glacier on Thursday to do some research on the spot:

the snow in the lower part of the normal route on which the landslide is ruined is melting and the dust and crushed stone make it difficult to use drones

that do not "see" clearly the remains and equipment scattered on the glacier, so we think about the intervention with selected operators, despite the risk of further collapses.

A situation that is in any case being evaluated, since the intervention is considered very dangerous.

Between today and tomorrow strong thunderstorms and the hope of the rescuers are expected and that the rain can somehow clean up the surface and allow a better view to the operators who may intervene.

"The predictability of the event is excluded, it is not there, we open all the doors in front of us to verify what happened and reconstruct the fact".

The chief prosecutor of Trento, Sandro Raimondi, told ANSA about the investigation for culpable disaster opened following the Marmolada disaster.

"We will hear people, we will see films and we will involve the scientific world to do tests to understand, from the hydraulic point of view, why there was this large body of water", added the prosecutor.

Marmolada: Erica's sister, why didn't they stop them?

- Chronicle

"Why didn't anyone make a warning on Saturday that there was water flowing under the glacier? Why didn't they stop the people? Why did they let them go?"

Liliana Bertoldi, 54, a street trader from Levico (Trento) was added yesterday as a victim to the account of the 'submerged and rescued' of the Marmolada;

the identity of a dead man, still unidentified, remains at stake, which could coincide with one of the missing, all Italians.

The total would be 11-12 people, more or less the number estimated by two French witnesses, who were in the area at the time of the detachment of the landslide.

Finally, eight were injured, one of whom was discharged from the hospital.

The assignment of the cars that were parked at Passo Fedaia was also completed.

The unknown patient with a prognosis reserved for the Treviso hospital has also "returned" to the survivors' account.

Thanks to the finds delivered by parents to the president of Veneto, Luca Zaia,

it was possible to ascertain that he is a thirty-year-old resident of Fornace, in the province of Trento.

Meanwhile, an interferometer and a doppler radar have been installed at the Marmolada refuge capable of detecting the slightest variations on the glacial front, both the one that has detached and the one intact.

This was stated by Mauro Gaddo of MeteoTrentino.

The data collected by the tools will be transmitted to a control center to be processed and analyzed.

THE PROXY: 'UNPREDICTABLE EVENT'

"

At this moment

we can absolutely exclude a predictability and a negligence or an imprudence"

.

Thus the chief prosecutor of Trento, Sandro Raimondi, interviewed by Tg3.

"The unpredictability in this moment is what is the protagonist - he said -. To have a responsibility you need to be able to foresee an event, which is very very difficult".

"When the Cavalese carabinieri called me immediately after the tragedy - he recalled -, they spoke to me of an almost apocalyptic situation".

"We talked about the Marmolada tragedy as a symbolic element of what climate change, if not governed, is producing in the world. It requires the full collaboration of everyone, otherwise it is not governed".

This was stated by Sergio Mattarella in the presidential palace in Maputo.

"There are countries that do not commit themselves. We must call everyone to take on further commitments".

"It is clear that with these temperatures a higher level of prudence is needed, just as it is clear that sustainability is not a trend but a necessity".

This was stated, commenting on the Marmolada tragedy, by the Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia on the sidelines of a meeting on cultural tourism in Ascoli Piceno.

The importance of sustainability, he added, "is
