Two drones from the Veneto mountain rescue and two others from the Trento firefighters will sift through the area where the ice landslide overwhelmed the mountaineers who were climbing along the normal route on Sunday. In addition to the drones, there are also two guard operators of finance at the Glacier hut.
Meanwhile, the activities of transporting the technological material necessary for the "sight and hearing" intervention of a selected team of rescuers continue which, together with the Canine Unit, could return to the glacier on Thursday to do some research on the spot:
the snow in the lower part of the normal route on which the landslide is ruined is melting and the dust and crushed stone make it difficult to use drones
that do not "see" clearly the remains and equipment scattered on the glacier, so we think about the intervention with selected operators, despite the risk of further collapses.
A situation that is in any case being evaluated, since the intervention is considered very dangerous.
Between today and tomorrow strong thunderstorms and the hope of the rescuers are expected and that the rain can somehow clean up the surface and allow a better view to the operators who may intervene.
"The predictability of the event is excluded, it is not there, we open all the doors in front of us to verify what happened and reconstruct the fact".
The chief prosecutor of Trento, Sandro Raimondi, told ANSA about the investigation for culpable disaster opened following the Marmolada disaster.
"We will hear people, we will see films and we will involve the scientific world to do tests to understand, from the hydraulic point of view, why there was this large body of water", added the prosecutor.
