A long evening with friends ended with the nightmare of gang violence, on a free beach in Stresa, on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore.
This is investigated by the carabinieri of the provincial command of Verbania and of the station of Stresa, coordinated by the Prosecutor of Verbania. A girl who was part of the company reported being a victim of rape, one night in late June.
There is the utmost confidentiality on the investigations coordinated by the prosecutor Olimpia Bossi and the deputy Laura Carrera of the Verbania prosecutor's office.
At the moment it only transpires that the young woman would have mentioned names: four of her friends, three men and a woman, all between 19 and 25 years old, all resident in Stresa - some would be of foreign origin - who were heard as people informed of the facts and not as investigated.
The rape allegedly took place in the night between Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June, two days before the 20-year-old was reported.
According to her story, she and her friends spent the evening in different places overlooking Lake Maggiore.
Late at night then they decided to move to the coast, to a free beach.
Here the violence would have occurred by her friends who would have abused her in turn, while it is not clear the role that her friend had in the violence of her.
Not an easy case for the investigators also because the young woman's memories appeared blurred and confused;
in addition to the medical examination to ascertain that there were injuries compatible with sexual violence, toxicological tests were also carried out to understand if in addition to alcohol abuse, which was admitted by the girl during her narration of the evening, it became a nightmare for her , there has been voluntary or unintentional use of drugs.
Last Friday, however, the carabinieri knocked on the doors of the friends of the twenty-year-old, who told their version of the facts to the soldiers of the Arma, who in the next few hours will listen to the testimonies of those who saw the group of young people that evening.
