(ANSA) - TOKYO, 12 JUL - The funeral of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Shinzo, shot last week during a rally in the city of Nara, is underway in Tokyo, at the Zojoji Buddhist temple.
The crowd stands at the foot of the iconic Tokyo Tower, in the center of the capital, and numerous people lay flowers in front of the photo of the longest-serving premier in history in Japan, which portrays him smiling.
After the funeral, the coffin will be taken to the Prime Minister's office and other central places of Japanese politics for a final farewell.
