Although almost everyone surfs the web every day, browsers have more features than many users realise.
These tricks make browsing easier with Firefox.
Millions of people use Mozilla's Firefox browser every day, but many users don't know the most important tricks.
Accidentally
closing windows and tabs
,
sharing pages
without having to send links or
synchronizing
the user profile: this know-how makes it easier for Firefox users to surf the web.
If you're using Windows 11, read handy shortcuts here.
Firefox: A profile abbreviates many things
The following applies regardless of the browser: Once you have decided between Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Opera, the browsers offer useful options through synchronization.
In addition to
shared bookmarks
, this includes the option of sending tabs.
Gone are the days when you had to cumbersomely send yourself links, instead open tabs can be sent directly to other devices.
To do this, open the tab option in the desired tab by right-clicking (PC) or two-finger-clicking (Mac) and select "Send tab to device".
Another click on the target device is enough and the content opens there.

Find your way through the tab clutter
Just look something up quickly?
All too often, this quest ends in a long string of more clicks and new tabs opened.
In order not to lose track in this case, there is a useful trick: open a new tab and type “%” in the address bar.
Firefox will then list the currently open tabs.
Then add a search term to the "%" and the list of suggestions should be so short that users will find their goal.

Restore tabs and windows
If you accidentally closed an important tab, you can easily open it again.
After
accidentally closing
it, simply press "Ctrl+Shift+T" (PC) "Command+Shift+T" (Mac) and the tab will reappear.
This also works with multiple tabs, users only have to run the command several times in a row.
The same principle applies to
accidentally closed windows
, the command for this is "Ctrl+Shift+N".
Firefox: Restore Sessions
Most of you should know the problem that not only a single tab but the entire Firefox session disappeared due to a PC restart.
But there is also an answer for this problem: Navigate to the chronicle using the menu button, where Firefox offers the option “Restore previous session”.

Creative users can personalize Firefox with the color picker
Firefox provides creative users with a practical tool: color tones of Internet pages can be precisely determined thanks to a color pipette.
The eyedropper is hidden behind the menu button and there under the "Additional tools" tab.
A click on "color pipette" is enough and a magnifying glass opens, which makes each individual pixel visible.
After clicking on the desired pixel, Firefox copies the hexadecimal color code to the clipboard.
