The Idol
has just been unveiled.
After
Euphoria
, director Sam Levinson is directing a new series that critics hope lives up to the famous show starring actress Zendaya.
To embody the main characters, Lily-Rose Depp and the singer The Weeknd, new to the small screen.
This Sunday, July 17, HBO unveiled a first teaser for the series punctuated by the track
Planisphere
of Justice.

At the center of the plot, an ambiguous love story between a young singer (Lily-Rose Depp) and the owner of a club (The Weeknd), who also turns out to be the guru of a cult.
They will be accompanied by actors Steve Zissis (
Cruella
), Troye Sivan (
Boy Erased
) and Mélanie Liburd (
This is us
).
Change of director
The Weeknd co-wrote the screenplay with Josh Epstein and Mary Laws.
As executive producer, the Canadian singer had to deal with numerous production problems when filming began.
While the series was initially to be directed by Amy Seimetz (
She Dies Tomorrow
), the interpreter of
Blinding Lights
finally chose to entrust the production to Sam Levinson.
If no official release date has yet been revealed, it seems that the first episodes should be broadcast before the end of 2022.
