The esteemed actress was unanimously elected at the first meeting of the Board of Directors to head the Association of Israeli Artists, which deals with the rights of performing artists in Israel.
During the transition period since Yankele Mendel left the union in favor of his position as chairman of the Clusters (Operations Rights Society) he served as chairman of the board of directors, Ron Gang.
Along with Elian, the organization's artists Ruhama Raz, Uzi Asner, Ron Gang, Eyal Bayer, Danny Katz, Yigal Perry, Miriam Engel, Esther Boas, Inbar Tanzer and Bat Chen Hordei Wakshi were elected to the committee.
Yona Elian Keshet said: "I am pleased to accept responsibility for this important role and to move the union forward. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing chairman, Ron Gang, and wish success to Yankele Mandel, who was recently elected chairman of the Operations Rights Clusters."
