(ANSA) - NAIROBI, JUL 23 - The African Union is "happy" for the agreement signed between Russia and Ukraine to unblock wheat exports, a "welcome development" for the continent which is facing an aggravation of famine and hunger.
This agreement is "a response" to last month's visit to Russia by the Senegalese head of state Macky Sall, president of the AU, and by Moussa Faki, president of the AU commission who underlined to Vladimir Putin "the urgency for the return of the AU. Ukrainian and Russian wheat on the world market ", reads a statement from the organization.
