There are things in life that require you to think twice.

For Kendra Walden it was seeing what appeared to be a Chucky doll come to life as she walked down the street in an Alabama neighborhood.

“I was remodeling a house in the area, and my employees and I were driving home from there,” Walden told TODAY Parents.

Walden said he thought he was hallucinating: "When we got closer to him we saw that he was real, he scared the hell out of us."

According to him, everyone in the car "screamed like little girls."

“My brother Zack, who is a Marine, was working on the house the day before,” Walden explained.

"His greatest fear of him in the whole world is Chucky, for which he would have died on the spot," he added.

Walden said the woman driving the car, Alexis Atchley, turned around so they could get a closer look at the sinister figure.

"When we turned around he had his mask off but he quickly put it back on and walked across the street," he said, "we turned around again and that's when we got the photos."

Walden posted three photos of the encounter on his Facebook page with a message: "Dear parents of the little boy in the Chucky costume in Pinson: Go get your son, I nearly had a heart attack."

Walden said he wrote his

message "just for fun" and that he did not expect it to go viral: "At first it was private and then a friend asked to make it public and after that it has been crazy."

"I rarely get to check my notifications because there are so many on Chucky's post," he added, "so many people went to share it."

"This is what happens when there isn't a Chucky movie at least every few years," one commenter wrote.

"He goes to the street."

Another added: "He would literally die."

The 5-year-old's mother also saw her son's post in costume and wrote a comment, according to Walden.

“A lot of people have laughed along with us at my post, but some others have posted really rude things about him crossing the street alone and whatnot,” Walden said, “He crossed the street alone, but he looked both ways and made sure that we stopped."

"It's sad to see so many people criticize his mother for allowing her son to have fun, with his grandmother nearby watching it all," he added, "I wish everyone was more positive."
