The Sprint Race also arrives in Motogp, the fast race already experienced in F1.
Irta, Fim and Dorna, in a joint press conference held in Austria where the 13th grand prix of the season is held, have made official the new format.
Unlike Formula 1, however, the Motogp Sprint Race
will not determine the starting grid
and will take place every Saturday of the race.

added: "We always want to improve to work on safety and entertainment, we have looked to other sports to adapt for the fans. It is important for us to offer a new schedule and calendar to create more show. we talked to the drivers and the manufacturers ".
The weekend from 2023 will be organized with a Friday with a double free practice session between morning and afternoon, while on Saturday with a third free practice session that will be immediately followed by qualifying.
FP4 will be abolished and the Sprint Race will be held in the afternoon based on the results obtained in qualifying.
The Sprint Race
will give points in view of the World Championship
, but the results of the Saturday race will not be used to compose the Sunday grid as is the case in F1.
