Three people stab a man and then dismember the body: this is said to be seen on a surveillance video from Italy. A suspect had reported her husband missing.

An act of violence caused a stir in Italy.

A 40-year-old woman and her sons, 20 and 15, are said to have killed the husband and father with knives.

This was announced by the public prosecutor's office in Salerno.

Prosecutors described the act as "horrific and bloody."

The three suspects from the small community of Giffoni Valle Piana in the south were arrested on Friday.

According to the public prosecutor's office, it is assumed that the crime happened at the end of July.

Accordingly, on July 30, the wife came to the police station of the Giffoni Valle Piana Carabinieri and reported her husband missing.

However, the police had doubts about the statement and wanted to view the video footage from the surveillance cameras on the house.

According to the information, this was overwritten.

An expert therefore restored the old recordings.

According to the investigators, the pictures show how the three people stab the man lying on the ground – under the eyes of an eleven-year-old child.

They then reportedly severed a leg from the corpse, put the body in a plastic bag and took the victim away.

The fire brigade finally found the dead man in a chasm in the mountains near Giffoni Valle Piana.

The background of the fact is unclear.

According to the daily newspaper La Repubblica, the man is said to have had a criminal record for domestic violence.

The 15-year-old son is said to have reported that his father hit his mother.
