Recall at Edeka: popular poultry product affected – sale in numerous federal states

A poultry product at Edeka is currently undergoing a recall.
It cannot be ruled out that there are plastic parts in it.
Kassel – There are repeated product recalls in Germany, for example due to contamination or foreign bodies.
A poultry product at Edeka is now also affected.
Small pieces of plastic were found in the frozen item.
The manufacturer Gunnar Dafgård AB informed in a statement about the current recall of the Swedish specialty "Dafgård poultry Köttbullar".
The best-before date of June 4, 2023 is affected. The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety also drew attention to the warning.
The product was sold by the supermarket chain Edeka.

Recall at Edeka: "Small pieces of plastic" in poultry items
It cannot be ruled out that "small pieces of plastic are in the Köttbullar," the company wrote in a statement on Tuesday (August 30).
Consumers who have already bought the frozen item affected by the recall from a retailer should no longer consume it.

According to the manufacturer, the meatballs were sold in almost all of Germany in Edeka markets.
These states are affected:

Brandenburg
Bremen
Hamburg
Hesse
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Lower Saxony
North Rhine-Westphalia
Rhineland-Palatinate
Saxony
Saxony-Anhalt
Schleswig-Holstein
Thuringia

Edeka recall: return poultry product to the supermarket
The manufacturer recommends returning the poultry product to an appropriate supermarket branch.
"The purchase price will be refunded," it said.
Other products are not affected by the recall.
"We regret the incident and apologize to all our customers for the inconvenience."

Recall at Edeka: This can happen with foreign bodies in food
Sharp-edged foreign bodies in food, such as pieces of plastic, can cause serious injury.
When consumed, there is a risk of injuries in the mouth and throat as well as internal bleeding.
Consumers should therefore no longer eat the product affected by the recall.
