(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 04 SEPT - Gigantic manhunt in Canada, after 10 people were killed and at least 15 others were injured in a series of stabbings in some remote and isolated communities in Saskatchewan, a central province of the country.

Rescuers indicated that there may be others injured.

The police are looking for two suspicious people, of whom they have given their general information and identikit: they are Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sandersos, 30, both with black hair and brown eyes, on the run perhaps in a black Nissan Rogue.

The relationship between the two is still unclear.

The search began as Regina came in with thousands of fans for a traditional (sold out) Labor Day football game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and iWinnipeg Blue Bombers.

The alert was initially given only in Saskatchewan but was then extended to the neighboring provinces of Alberta and Manitoba, as the alleged killers were seen fleeing by car.

The police have asked the residents of these remote areas to use the utmost caution and remain in the home if possible.

The attacks took place in at least 13 different locations, most notably between James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, where local communities declared a state of emergency.

According to investigators, some victims appear to have been hit by accident, others on purpose.

But the motive remains unknown.

    Rescuers described gruesome scenes.

"What happened in our province today is horrifying," said Rhonda Blackmore, assistant to the Canadian Royal Police Commissioner.

The wounded were also transported by two helicopters to different hospitals.

(HANDLE).
