Even if it seems like you've heard everything the members of the biggest band in the world have to say, the documentary series about it will give you a completely new perspective • Each of its four episodes feels like a whole world, so it's worth dedicating every minute to it • TV review

When I finished watching the four episodes that tell the story of the four mythical members of the biggest band in the world, the Rolling Stones, my throat was somewhat dry and my eyes actually felt wet.

As in the band's performance, so also watching the episodes that tell its story, I felt in an out-of-body experience.

Sometimes you get a gift in the middle of life without expecting it, certainly as an adult.

This series, produced by the BBC, is that gift.

In Israel, the episodes of "Being a Rolling Stone" (Cellcom TV) will be broadcast one week apart, and this is excellent news: watching episodes in a binge is like drinking a bottle of cognac in one gulp, like finishing a jar of caviar with uniform bread - it's simply something you don't do.

Each chapter should be taken to the lungs, to the heart and above all to fill the soul.

Each chapter is a whole world, and it is worth dedicating the week to think about it afterwards.

And you thought you had heard everything about them.

Even if it seems like you've already heard everything Mick Jagger has to say, even if you've heard all the stories about Keith Richards (yes, yes, including the one that he branched off his father's remains), you'll still get a new and outgoing perspective here An aside about the band that continues with its traveling circus around the world.

I'm not a huge fan of the band, but there wasn't one episode I didn't enjoy.

One exciting episode I will take with me for a long time to come - the episode about Charlie Watts, the band's drummer who passed away last year.

Beyond the fact that it is a tribute to a dead man, this episode manages to innovate in a place where it seems that there is nothing new anymore: it does justice to one of the greatest rock drummers of all time, a man who was probably really different in the landscape of rough rock and roll, certainly among his friends with brains fried by alcohol and from other consciousnesses.

Trying to summarize who or what the Rolling Stones are is not really the place.

Nor should we go that far in the analysis of this wonderful series, but if we need a bottom line just to summarize the review, we can talk about the fact that one accountant, good with numbers and with a wise financial vision, who also happens to be the biggest rock star still walking among us, Saved his band from doom.

The series tells again the mythological story in which the most famous band in the world was basically penniless in the bank, until Mick Jagger took on this business - and saved it and himself.

But mostly us too, because this series makes it clear that without the rolling stones, our life on this planet would really be less good.

saved even us.
