EuroMillions: a winner of 4.5 million euros appears a few hours before the loss of his gain

The lucky winner of the July 12 draw was desired before finally pocketing his prize 24 hours before the deadline.

He was hours away from losing 4.5 million euros.

The winner of the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday July 12, whose ticket had been bought in the Hautes-Alpes, showed up in extremis to collect his prize, reports BFMTV.

He had until 11:59 p.m. this Friday to come forward and after a long wait, he finally made himself known today less than twenty-four hours from the fateful moment, the FDJ said in a statement.

If he hadn't called in time, his winnings would have been rolled over in a super lottery.

The FDJ specifies, however, that lottery winners are rare not to come forward: in 2021, only two jackpots of one million euros each had not been claimed.

With a total sum of 4,572,731.40 euros, this is the fourth biggest gain recorded in the Hautes-Alpes.
