Amazon has decided to opt for a simple strategy, which gives everyone the possibility of buying the console: it is a waiting list.
The latter is open to all Internet users who have an account on Amazon: all you have to do is register in a few clicks.
The online sales site is responsible for checking whether your account corresponds to that of an individual, then it sends you an invitation when the PS5 is in stock, to allow you to buy it in a safe way.
You will probably have to wait a bit before you can validate your order, but you no longer have to scrutinize online sales, which is probably a good thing.
Of course, nothing prevents you from keeping an eye on the sales made on other sites, if you wish.
