Meta is expanding support for NFT, blockchain-based digital works, on its platforms.

The first to welcome the trend that seems to have waned in recent months is Instagram.

On the social network it will be possible not only to post the NFTs owned but also to sell those created directly on the app, thanks to a series of tools that Meta has begun to make available to users in the United States.

The display of the files is instead wider.

The social network itself explains it through its blog: "Updates on the functionality to show content are available in over 100 countries".

The announcement came during the Creator Week conference in Los Angeles.

Meta will not take commissions from NFT sales by creators until 2024. There will instead be a deduction, of about 30%, if the Nft itself, created by Instagram, is sold and purchased on third-party platforms, such as stores. of existing digital works.

In that case, creators will also be able to set an additional commission for reselling their work, ranging from 5% to ;; 25%.

The testing phase currently involves only a small group of creators residing in the United States, with the collectible files being based on the Polygon blockchain although it is planned to extend support to the Solana network and the Phantom wallet.

The largest NFT store, OpenSea, is not entirely viewable on Instagram except for selected works and basic information of the individual files.
