Are you staying in a hotel and are afraid of encountering bed bugs like bedbugs?

A girl named Hallie, who worked for several years in hotels, uploaded a video to Tiktok in which she shared some things you should know when you enter your hotel room and also revealed the exact way in which you should look for bedbugs, to avoid a nightmarish experience and possibly encountering them while sleeping (or their bites in the morning)

Haley uploaded the video following an unpleasant experience experienced by a couple named Matt and Abby, who claimed that they "spent" a night in a hotel bed full of bugs and Abby even suffered a rash on her hands and feet as a result.

Halli, who as mentioned has been working in the hotel industry for 15 years and owns a company that supports this industry, uploaded a video in response in which she explained how to check the hotel room so as not to encounter unwanted guests.

This is what needs to be done

"The first thing you will do is darken the room. Turn off the lights and use a flashlight or your cell phone to shine on the bed. Then move and lift all the mattress covers, including the special pad that wraps most mattresses. You need to do a thorough inspection through all the creases and layers of The mattress".

She explained that shaking the mattress and checking all its seam lines may help find the insects "that like to cling to the corners and folds of the mattress."

She demonstrated a thorough inspection and lifted the mattress off the bed frame to check for anything underneath.

"Even if you don't see bedbugs, make sure there are no blood stains because that's not a good sign."

This also happens in luxury hotels

Half of the responses Hallie received were about similar experiences that hotel guests had and the other half were shocked by the possibility of bed bugs.

"I was afraid to check it," wrote one, and another wondered, "Do such things exist in luxury hotels, too?"

Some wondered why one should look for the insects in the dark and not in the light and Heli uploaded another video in which she explained that the reason for this is because bed bugs are usually nocturnal insects and in the light they are usually outside looking for their prey.
