The founder of the Northern League, Umberto Bossi, was taken to hospital in Varese after he fell ill at his home in Gemonio. The 118 personnel arrived on the spot and transported the senator to the Circolo hospital.
From what has been learned Bossi who, in medical terms "vigilant", arrived at the hospital accompanied by his son Renzo and his wife Manuela Marrone who are assisting him and are by his side.
Clinical investigations are now underway to investigate the causes of the illness.
The MEP Angelo Ciocca is also in the hospital who had comforting words: "Bossi has always shown himself to be a lion both in difficult moments in politics and in those of life and health".
Umberto Bossi is expected to be present on 27 November at Castello di Giovenzano (Pavia) for another leg of the Northern Committee's tour.
