82 women killed this year, 42 by partners or exes

(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 22 - Of the 221 homicides committed in the first nine months of this year (the same number as in 2021), 82 had female victims, against 90 last year (- 9%).

   In the family-affective sphere, 97 were registered, of which 71 with female victims;

of these, 42 found death at the hands of their partner or ex.

This is what emerges from the joint report "Prejudice and violence against women", edited by the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police.

   In the same period there were 4,416 sexual assaults (+9% compared to 2021);

92% of the victims are women.
