Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Denies His Movie 'Black Adam' Failed

Movie star Dwayne Johnson doesn't want to let the reports about the flop of his new DC flick "Black Adam" stand at the box office.

Instead, he draws up his own account that shows supposed profits.

Black Adam may have had its best box office result since July when it hit theaters in late October, along with a personal best from lead actor Dwayne Johnson, but the DC flick struggled from there.

In the meantime, the film has grossed 385 million dollars worldwide (165 million of them in the American home market).

The predecessor "Shazam!" from 2019 could already be surpassed.

So why is there talk of a financial flop at all?

Quite simply: while the production budget of "Shazam!" is estimated at almost 100 million dollars, it is said to be closer to 195 million dollars for "Black Adam".

So the film needs to make a lot more money at the box office to be profitable.

If you also add the marketing costs, which in the case of "Black Adam" are said to be around 80 million dollars, the income doesn't look that good anymore.

Especially since the operators of the cinemas still get money.
