The man who yesterday evening stabbed to death 52-year-old Nazzareno Paolo Teti in Rome in the via Borghesiana area was arrested by the police.
It is a 47-year-old Albanian citizen.
The man would have shot the victim who was standing on the street in the neck, and then fled.
The motive for the crime is to be found in the sentimental relationship that had developed between the wife and the victim.
"The investigations, conducted immediately after the fact by the Rome mobile team, thanks to the help of video cameras and direct testimony, corroborated by various types of investigations and findings, therefore led, in a very short time, to identify the suspected perpetrator of the fact criminal", explains a note from the Police Headquarters.
