Even after Christmas there will probably not be any typical winter weather in Germany.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), it should remain mild, windy and changeable in the next few days.

The DWD announced that there was predominantly high air pressure in southern Europe, which brought spring-like and mostly dry weather.

On the other hand, there were a number of low-pressure areas over northern Europe.

"Germany is right in between and will sometimes benefit more from the lows, sometimes from the high," says a DWD meteorologist.

High in the south, deep in the north

The forecast is: On Tuesday, the high will be particularly noticeable in the south of the country.

Regionally, the sun is sometimes longer, in the north the clouds remain dense.

There can be storms on the coasts and in the mountains - and even severe gusts of wind on some peaks.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, gusts of wind with wind speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour were expected on the coast on Monday.

According to the forecasts, stormy gusts of between 55 and 65 kilometers per hour can occur in the rest of the state.

The weather is expected to last until Thursday with temperatures up to 10 degrees.

In Lower Saxony, too, it will probably be stormy and rainy.

"The weather conditions will be very changeable, and low-lying foothills will cross Lower Saxony and Bremen again and again," says a DWD meteorologist.

Tuesday starts with light showers, which weaken over the course of the day, and the sun can appear in between.

The daily highs reach seven degrees inland and on the islands, in the higher parts of the Harz Mountains it stays at one degree.

15 degrees in Bavaria

In Bavaria, the thermometer rose to up to 15 degrees on Boxing Day.

In the new week it should remain mild.

According to the DWD, many clouds are moving across the Free State, but up to 15 degrees can be reached locally, especially in the middle of the week.

Cold nights are to be expected in Upper and Lower Bavaria – with areas down to minus four degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.

For New Year's Eve and New Year, the DWD is forecasting spring-like weather in Bavaria, with temperatures of up to 14 degrees, a low probability of rain and a mix of sun and clouds.
