The Briton who was still performing on the Olympia stage in Paris in July, for a concert with Johnny Depp, died on Tuesday at the age of 78.
“On behalf of his family, it is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck's passing.
After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he died peacefully yesterday, ”announces the statement published by his family on the musician’s official website on Wednesday.
