In the third round of the first of the four annual Grand Slam tournaments underway in Melbourne, the 21-year-old South Tyrolean number 16 in the world came from behind to beat the 30-year-old Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (n.78) with a score of 4-6 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-0 after more than 3 and a half hours of play.
Sinner's next opponent will be world No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The 24-year-old Greek knocked out the 26-year-old Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (#63) 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.

The Russian Daniil Medvedev n.8 Atp was eliminated by the American Sebastian Korda in three sets 7-6, 6-3, 7-6.
