(ANSA) - SANREMO, 01 FEB - With the alarm of possible actions by anarchists, in the Cospito case, the Sanremo Festival is siblind.
Checks with metal detectors at the gates of the "red zone" around the Ariston, special units, including crime prevention departments;
anti-terrorist units and cyber security specialists, use of public surveillance cameras, controls at sea for Costa Smeralda and more surveillance with an additional 150 units a day in addition to the 100 men already present.
"The device has been strengthened regardless of a specific alert to guarantee the safety of the event", commissioner Giuseppe Peritore told ANSA.
The device was made official in the meeting of the Committee for public order and safety, chaired by the new prefect Valerio Massimo Romeo, which was followed by a technical table at the police station coordinated by the commissioner Peritore.
"During the technical table - says the commissioner - the use of reinforcement devices made available by the public safety department was evaluated. It is about 150 men who add to the one hundred employees at the territorial level, including police, carabinieri and financial police".
"The plant is based on the
intensification and control of the territory with a reinforced fixed garrison over the objectives where the demonstrations take place.
For the management of the operations, a crisis unit was set up, in the Sanremo police station, with representatives of all the police forces and members of Rai". (ANSA).
