(ANSA) - MUNICH, FEBRUARY 17 - "Whoever can send tanks to Ukraine must do so now".
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said so in his speech in Munich.
"In arms policy, the European Union must row in the same direction", he added.
"We are concerned that war will not escalate between NATO and Russia. We will continue to strike the balance between the best possible support for Ukraine and avoiding an unwanted escalation. And I am pleased and grateful that President Biden and many other allies think exactly like me," said the chancellor.
"Dear Volodymyr, we would have gladly had you here because Ukraine belongs to a free and united Europe. But we understand that your place must now be in Kiev"
Scholz said.
